WHAT'S IN HELIOS
Distilled Water: Distillation removes waterborne pathogens. Most waterborne disease-causing bacteria do not survive distillation. Reducing the risk of consuming harmful chemicals.
Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (sweet almond oil): Almonds can be both sweet and bitter. The 100% pure Sweet Almond oil that we use is derived from trees that produce sweet almonds! Sweet Almond oil has been used for centuries to treat dry skin conditions, including eczema and psoriasis. The oil's fatty acid content may help dissolve excess oil on the skin, while the retinoids in the oil may reduce the appearance of acne and improve cell turnover.
Mangifera Indica Seed Butter (mango butter): expressed from the seeds of the mango tree, it may help ease dry skin conditions and is softer than shea or cocoa butter at room temperature.
Vegetable Glycerin: also known as glycerol or glycerine, is a clear liquid typically made from soybean, coconut or palm oils. Vegetable glycerin may act as a moisturizer, reduce skin irritation, protect against infection and boost wound healing.
Butyrospermum Parkii (shea butter): is a fat extracted from the nut of the African shea tree (Vitellaria paradoxa). It is usually ivory in color when raw, with more processed versions being white in color. It can be yellow when a root is added to it. It is widely used in cosmetics as a moisturizer.
Persea Gratissima (avocado oil infused with organic calendula): Avocado oil is an edible oil pressed from the fruit of the Persea americana (avocado). As a food oil, it is used as an ingredient in other dishes, and as a cooking oil. It is also used for lubrication and in cosmetics, where it is valued for its regenerative and moisturizing properties.
It is pressed from the fleshy pulp surrounding the avocado pit and not the pit itself. The antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents in avocado oil help your skin stay smooth, strong, and elastic. Calendula Organic: Reduces pain and swelling. Powerful anti-inflammatory properties and is shown to improve skin firmness and hydration.
Plant derived Emulsifying Wax: is a blend of raw materials that produce emulsions over a wide range of concentrations acting as the primary or secondary emulsifier. Emulsifying wax is used to create creams and lotions with a velvety consistency, by binding water and oils together. It is a plant-derived fatty alcohol, naturally occurring and extremely safe for cosmetic use, which results in a readily absorbed and pleasing lotion.
Steric Acid: Stearic acid is a naturally occurring fatty acid. Stearic acid (IUPAC systematic name: octadecanoic acid) is one of the useful types of saturated fatty acids that comes from many animal and vegetable fats and oils. It is a waxy solid.
Maranta Arundinacea (arrowroot): is a natural powdered root starch that is white in color and very lightweight. It is derived from the tropical South American plant Maranta arundinacea. It is generally used as a substitute for cornstarch, which is highly processed and difficult to source in non-GMO varieties. Arrowroot powder can also be used as a base for some of your body care formulations.
Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E): is a group of eight fat soluble compounds that include four tocopherols and four tocotrienols. It is well known for its skin-loving properties, including the ability to protect the skin from free radicals.
Benzyl Alcohol: is a colorless liquid with a mild pleasant aromatic odor. It is a useful as a solvent for its polarity, low toxicity, and low vapor pressure.
Lemon Essential Oil: is a completely natural ingredient that also serves as a home health remedy. It’s extracted from the peel of fresh lemons through steam extraction, or less often, through a “cold-pressing” process that pricks and rotates the peel as oil is released.
Lime Essential Oil: is cold-pressed from the peels of fresh limes, it’s refreshing and energizing in both aroma and taste. Lime oil is frequently used in facial and body cleansers for its purifying properties and uplifting scent.
Fragrance: Fragrance oils are synthetic products and therefore do not possess the natural healing properties of essential oils. Fragrance oils are essentially a "pleasant" aroma. It is possible to create almost any aroma in a fragrance oil, unlike an essential oil, which is extracted from a plant.
