I, Chan, am from Central Florida. Growing up a red head, I always recognized that I stood out in a crowd. I recognized that I was different early on and that played a crucial role in my self perception. I would never want to leave the house a mess, my hair needed to be styled, I needed an outfit on, not clothes. I knew I’d have eyes on me, so I didn’t want to give more reason to an assumed judgement.
As I got older, my attentiveness to my appearance began to benefit me in my social life and networking opportunities. I took it a step further and became a licensed professional in barbering from Paul Mitchell, I was determined to learn more. This began my career in men’s grooming. Over a couple of years, I grew a clientele and opened my own barbershop.
As I maintain a regular schedule with appointments I recognized the issues a lot of my clients (from all different walks of life) were experiencing similar, if not the same, issues with their hair & skin. I realized that the basics of a self care routine would be an exponential amount of help and relief.
As I would help clients sort out these issues, I recognized their change in the way they saw their reflection. They were happy with who they saw finally, it was everything I’d experienced growing up. This grew my desire to continue helping men everywhere.
